ddc-dine-careers is looking for a Senior CICS System Administrator to provide critical support for the day-to-day operations of our Ecosystem Mainframe LOB. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our core transaction processing systems.
What You'll Do
- Maintain IBM CICS and Message Queuing (MQ) software, including all changes, upgrades, and patching.
- Diagnose and resolve CICS environment system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs, traces, dumps, and monitoring tools.
- Install, customize, upgrade, and maintain CICS and MQ software on mainframe computer platforms running z/OS.
- Create, define, modify, and understand CICS parameters to create new regions per requested criteria without assistance.
- Analyze CICS & MQ software environments to provide performance tuning recommendations and plans.
- Administer and implement CICS web services environment, assisting programmers in understanding requirements.
- Create and maintain backup processing for CICS, MQ, and their associated products.
- Maintain software and CICS/MQ environments in compliance with security guidelines.
- Use the IBM SMP/E environment as a lead technician to install software.
- Participate in planning and executing database migrations and application software upgrades.
- Address questions and issues related to IBM CICS and MQ software.
What We're Looking For
- An Active Secret Clearance.
- Must hold ONE of the qualifying IAT Level I certifications: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP.
- Proven experience supporting CICS.
- Experience with the Remedy IT Ticketing system.
- Good analytical, reporting, communication, documentation, and process skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Internet, and SharePoint.
- Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of a college degree.
