Miris is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager - Training and Simulation

About the Role

The role involves driving business expansion in the training and simulation sector by developing relationships with clients, partners, and government agencies. The individual will identify new opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and support long-term market positioning.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in defense, aerospace, and government training sectors
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations
  • Lead market analysis to uncover emerging needs and competitive dynamics
  • Collaborate with technical teams to shape solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract award
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations
  • Negotiate agreements and finalize commercial terms
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting training programs
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
  • Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance in contracts
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales pipelines
  • Support strategic planning with data-driven market insights
  • Work closely with product development to align offerings with market demand
  • Drive customer retention through ongoing engagement and value demonstration
  • Ensure alignment with corporate goals in all business development activities

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in business administration or a technical discipline
  • Experience selling simulation-based training systems
  • Existing relationships within defense training communities
  • Knowledge of LVC (Live, Virtual, Constructive) training environments
  • Past performance in capturing SBIR or other government-funded programs
  • Understanding of AI or data analytics applications in training systems
  • Experience working with prime contractors or as a prime
  • Familiarity with DoD organizational structure and budgeting process
  • Certification in sales or business development methodologies

Security Requirements

Applicant must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Expectations
