Role Overview
Lead the accounting operations for a portfolio of entities including real estate developments, operating businesses, and personal investment structures. This role demands precision, autonomy, and expert-level proficiency in NetSuite to ensure accurate financial records, timely closes, and reliable reporting across all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting functions such as journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
- Take full ownership of month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate financial statements on schedule.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and project-specific profit and loss reports.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly, ensuring data integrity across all accounts.
- Track costs and revenues by property for real estate developments, maintaining separate P&Ls for each asset.
- Ensure consistent alignment between business and personal financial records.
- Support future growth by establishing clean accounting practices for new ventures and entities.
- Uphold compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms for tax filings, cost segregation studies, and quarterly reviews.
- Deliver well-documented reports and financial packages for leadership and external partners.
- Provide accurate, timely data to support strategic decisions by senior management.
- Work extensively within NetSuite, handling data imports, transaction processing, and system integrity.
- Utilize AppFolio for investor and property management accounting as needed.
- Organize tasks and workflows using Gmail and ClickUp to maintain efficiency and transparency.
- Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy across all financial systems and reporting layers.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with NetSuite, including daily transaction management, data imports, and reconciliation workflows.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate large financial datasets and build reliable reconciliation models.
- Proven track record maintaining general ledgers, producing financial statements, and executing close procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in routine and complex tasks.
- Self-directed work style with strong problem-solving abilities and minimal need for oversight.
- Clear, direct communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on transparency and precision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with high accountability and ownership expectations.
