About the Role

Scout Motors is looking for a School Sales Representative to be part of our national sales team and the face of Newsela in the market. In this role, you will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school level and selling Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to schools in your territory.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships with key decision makers at the school level.
  • Sell Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to schools in your territory.
  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and sales through the entire lifecycle.
  • Become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape to inform sales strategy.
  • Own your territory, manage the entire lifecycle of a sale, and build new business relationships.
  • Achieve your own revenue targets.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to support company growth.
  • Have a direct impact on the expansion and adoption of Newsela products.

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ years hitting or exceeding quota selling SaaS products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating multiple stakeholders to engineer solutions.
  • Proven experience with a high volume/transactional sales approach and building a book of business.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can drive sales quickly to a close.

Nice to Have

  • Former teacher or good grasp of pedagogy to connect classroom challenges to solutions.

Team & Environment

Part of a national/regional sales team reporting to a Manager of School Sales.

  • Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 USD base salary.
