Glia is seeking a Sales Engineer in Chicago, IL to act as the primary technical authority for prospective clients. You will engage with sophisticated enterprises, guiding them through their digital transformation journey by demonstrating how Glia’s solutions meet their complex needs.
What You'll Do
- Handle complex technical challenges, leveraging the support of managers and teams.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively address potential risks.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, integrate technical needs into project planning, and choose effective project management strategies.
- Navigate and resolve complex client issues, fostering collaboration across departments.
- Present complex information clearly and concisely during meetings, ensuring communications are impactful.
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, regularly contributing insights in meetings.
- Develop and maintain deep, personalized customer relationships to advance business objectives.
- Utilize our library of stories and case studies to share knowledge across the Glia product set.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on coding ability. Comfortable building and modifying working examples in JavaScript and HTML/CSS, and explaining decisions clearly.
- Proven experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations.
- Experience building small but real technical artifacts such as serverless functions or automation scripts to prove out workflows.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes and guide stakeholders through tradeoffs.
- Customer-facing experience (pre-sales, professional services, solutions architecture, or similar). Comfortable leading technical conversations.
- Strong communication skills: asks great questions, can whiteboard/teach, and presents a point of view clearly.
- Experience working in/around B2B SaaS products that support sales or customer experience workflows.
Nice to Have
- Prior Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect title or demo ownership experience.
- CS degree or formal technical training (helpful if hands-on dev skills are strong).
- Experience with contact center / CX tech and/or telephony concepts.
- Background at organizations known for platform/custom development pre-sales.
