Your Role • This position drives Sales and Business Development for major Asia Pacific Japan Direct and Consortium Subsea accounts, managing the overall business relationship between Ciena and the customer. • The Sales Leader will develop rock-solid customer relationships that block competitive infiltration and create deep 'C' level customer intimacy • We need a highly motivated, results-oriented leader with serious account strategy and large system sales chops • Candidate must crush interpersonal and presentation skills, juggle complex customer priorities, and maintain laser focus on driving new business while smashing quarterly and annual order, revenue, and margin targets • Hardcore focus on execution and sales strategy, with the ability to maintain and expand opportunities in the existing pipeline. Total ownership of senior relationships, both externally and internally Your Responsibilities • Lead, devise, and execute sales strategy and account planning to meet/exceed sales/booking/margin quota • Craft and implement account strategy plans that position Ciena to maximize revenue streams and margins • Initiate, develop, and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels, including executives • Participate in setting strategy and tactics for each specific sales objective • Possess advanced knowledge of the competitive landscape and Asia Pacific and Japan subsea market • Own the entire sales and fulfillment process for global activities • Qualify new business opportunities by working with Legal and Commercial to assess risk profiles against revenue potential • Manage Salesforce, including weekly status/progress and forecast reports (monthly and quarterly) • Collaborate seamlessly with extended Ciena team, including executive team, product marketing, product management, and sales operations • Develop comprehensive understanding of Ciena products and future portfolio Minimum Essential Requirement • Minimum 3 years major Account/Global Account management/sales experience with proven performance track record • 5+ years sales, system engineering, product management or combination preferred. Business or Science/Engineering Degree in technical field or equivalent experience • Strong technical knowledge of optical with deep understanding of subsea networks • Solid grasp of subsea customer network requirements, operational and capital expenses planning, and total cost of ownership models • General knowledge of transmission systems, data networks, optics, and network management • Detailed knowledge of Ciena products (or ability to quickly understand) • Experience leading complex sales strategy and methodology • Exceptional 'C-Level' business communication skills Highly Desirable Requirements • Experience in Asia Pacific Subsea, especially Consortium and Large Service Provider customers • Knowledge of Submarine consortium and global service provider organizational structures and decision processes • Sharp market intelligence awareness across Asia Pacific, Japan, and global competitors • Understanding of Wet Plant, SLTE, and Transponder architectures and evolution • Strong consultative leadership skills to influence stakeholder organizations worldwide • Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure with minimal direct supervision • MBA and/or advanced technical degree • Deep understanding of markets, including market segmentation and service providers • Advanced knowledge of L0-L3 network infrastructure (hardware and software) • Software and Professional services experience • Exemplary communication skills for creating and delivering customer solution presentations • Strategic thinking about new business opportunities with sound, tough judgment • Willingness to travel up to 50% for business and customer meetings #LI-SM #LI-Remote #LI-Hybrid Not ready to apply?
