AECOM is seeking a Rolling Stock Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize rolling stock systems for metro projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet project requirements and international standards.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed designs for rolling stock systems, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, operational requirements, and international standards
- Coordinate the integration of rolling stock systems with other metro subsystems, such as signaling, tracks, and power supply
- Address technical challenges related to system compatibility and performance optimization
- Review and validate design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct simulations and analyses to test system performance, reliability, and safety
- Ensure rolling stock designs comply with international standards, such as EN, IEC, and ISO
- Monitor regulatory changes and adapt designs accordingly
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of rolling stock design activities
- Provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases
- Implement quality control measures to ensure designs meet the highest standards of reliability and safety
- Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address design-related issues
- Analyze rolling stock performance data and implement design improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lifecycle costs
- Develop innovative solutions to address operational challenges and improve passenger experience
