MD Anderson Cancer Center is hiring a Research Nurse to join the Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology. You will play a key role in managing clinical trial protocols, enrolling patients, and ensuring the quality and integrity of our research activities at one of the world's leading cancer centers.
What You'll Do
- Manage clinical trial protocols and enroll patients onto studies.
- Review protocol materials and participate in site initiation and pre-activation meetings.
- Assess patient eligibility by reviewing medical records and required documentation.
- Order and obtain appropriate laboratory tests and procedures.
- Educate patients and manage communication regarding investigational treatments.
- Obtain informed consent from patients, attending physicians, and family members.
- Meet with sponsors and principal investigators to discuss patient and study issues.
- Report adverse events and safety information to the PI, IRBs, and FDA.
- Collect and document protocol-related data for entry into study databases.
- Participate in monitoring and auditing activities for quality assurance.
- Train and mentor research nurses and other new clinical research team members.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- 1 year of Registered Nurse experience.
- Current Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
- BLS - Basic Life Support or CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Prior Research Nurse and/or Oncology experience.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification as required by patient care area.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification as required by patient care area.
