Hanover Research is hiring a Research Associate, Secondary Research to join our Higher Education team. This entry-level position involves conducting secondary research to support colleges and universities with strategic decisions. You will work on common project types such as new academic program market analyses, portfolio reviews, and competitive benchmarking.
What You'll Do
- Conduct secondary research to address key topics in higher education.
- Analyze and synthesize publicly available data to tell a coherent story and make actionable recommendations.
- Determine and produce the best visual aids, including complex tables and graphs.
- Produce client-ready deliverables, largely in PowerPoint, for audiences like senior administrators and board members.
- Manage different phases of the project lifecycle from research to final polished deliverable.
- Contribute to Hanover’s proprietary online library of reports and research briefs.

- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with higher education and higher education databases like IPEDS.
- Experience writing for business or non-academic audiences.
- A bachelor’s degree in English, History, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, or a related writing-intensive discipline.
- Experience in a setting that requires professional written and verbal communication.
