ESPN is hiring a Remote Drone Visual Observer to join our Drone Operations team. In this role, you will support remote broadcast events, ensuring safe and efficient drone operations for live production.
What You'll Do
- Maintain visual line of sight with drone during operation.
- Maintain situational awareness, scanning the airspace for potential hazards, such as other aircraft, obstacles, or people.
- Communicate effectively with the RPIC, relaying information about the drone's position, altitude, and any potential hazards.
- Assist with battery and lens changes on drone.
- Troubleshoot problems including camera, cabling, lens, etc. issues/concerns.
- Manage and organize gear and connectivity of drone, video, and communications.
What We're Looking For
- Valid US driver's license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FAA Part 107 regulations.
- Knowledge of UAS operations within a production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to visually inspect equipment and materials to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients, both in person and over the phone.
- Proficient knowledge of live production environments.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting using technical acumen and strong communication tools.
- Schedule flexibility to travel and work weekends and holidays as schedule and show needs require.
- High School Diploma.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of broadcast equipment and remote production show needs.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour
