Stanford Medicine Children's Health is hiring a Relief Housekeeping Assistant to play a critical role in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for patients, families, and staff. Under the direct supervision of a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will ensure the cleanliness of surfaces and proper handling of all waste in assigned areas.
What You'll Do
- Clean non-patient areas such as offices, laboratories, and classrooms by dust-mopping floors, removing trash, and damp-mopping or vacuuming.
- Clean patient, clinic, and satellite areas by cleaning floors with mops, vacuums, and buffers, cleaning furniture and walls, and dusting screens and televisions.
- Clean restrooms thoroughly, including toilet bowls, sinks, showers, and partitions; polish fixtures; change curtains; and replenish supplies.
- Learn and practice aseptic cleaning techniques and isolation cleaning procedures.
- Handle the removal of regular and biohazardous waste and compacted boxes for scheduled trash pick-up.
- Observe and practice standard precautions and all hospital-established safety regulations and procedures.
- Operate a commercial vacuum cleaner and attachments for floors, walls, furniture, and high dusting.
- Perform total cleaning of auxiliary areas, discharge rooms, isolation areas, and assist with emergency clean-ups.
- Recognize and eliminate potential hazards associated with adults and children.
- Report needed minor repairs and maintain cleaning equipment through proper cleaning and storage.
