University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team in Doral. You will be responsible for delivering pre- and post-operative patient care, including assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What You'll Do
- Assess assigned patients and evaluate care plans, documenting all nursing care.
- Report patient symptoms, changes in condition, and vital signs.
- Modify patient treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician orders.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Consider patient age and culture when providing treatment and any related information.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Perform patient tests and safely administer medications within your scope of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records per regulations, policies, and physician orders.
- Communicate the plan of care to patients, families, and team members in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with guidelines like HIPAA.
- Use best practices for patient care transitions.
- Utilize available resources to assist in discharge planning.
- Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and provide superior patient care, seeking assistance when needed.
- Adapt to changing work demands and environment.
- Operate appropriate medical equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Florida Registered Nurse License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
