Washington University in St. Louis is hiring a Senior Scientist - Pediatrics Hematology & Oncology to join the Magee lab. Our research focuses on mechanisms regulating childhood blood development and genetic changes that cause leukemia, with the goal of developing new treatments for children with leukemia and other blood disorders. The Senior Scientist will be a key collaborator in designing, conducting, and reporting on research projects.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate on designing, conducting, and reporting of research projects.
- Assist with grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepare and submit papers on research.
- Develop hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing them.
- Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Manage research projects with other institutions and investigators.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. or Terminal Degree or a combination of education and experience that may substitute for minimum education.
- 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
Nice to Have
- Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological sciences or related fields.
- Relevant postdoctoral experience including molecular biology, flow cytometry, cell culture and ideally management of pluripotent cell culture lines.
- Experience mentoring students and colleagues.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong capabilities in analytical problem solving, laboratory instrumentation and processes, laboratory techniques, oral and written communication, teamwork, and working independently.
Benefits & Compensation
- Annual salary range: $63,400 - $115,000.
