Abbott, a global healthcare leader, is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse Patient Educator in Bristol, VA. In this per-diem role, you will provide essential, personalized Face-2-Face training to home testing customers on using PT/INR equipment and reporting results. You will travel directly to customer homes to deliver this vital education.
What You'll Do
- Remotely set up training appointments directly with customers and caregivers.
- Travel to customers' homes within the general geographic area of your home.
- Demonstrate and instruct customers and caregivers on the proper use and care of PT/INR equipment.
- Explain test reporting options clearly and effectively.
- Accurately document and submit patient training records electronically.
- Maintain communications with Acelis Connected Health via cell phone, email, and internet.
- Utilize secure encrypted email for all communications containing customer Protected Health Information (PHI).
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Relevant clinical experience.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel a minimum of 100 miles roundtrip.
- Completion of assigned educational prerequisites.
- Proof of health screening documentation.
- Successful completion of a consumer report (background check) and pre-employment drug screening.
- Computer and Smart Device proficiency.
- Own a personal laptop or desktop computer to complete company requirements.
- Access to a printer.
- Proficient in basic website and application troubleshooting using a smart device.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience or exposure to anticoagulation management or homecare.
- Health education or training experience.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly pay range: $22.15 – $44.35/hour.
Work Mode
This is a local-city position based in Bristol, VA, requiring travel to customer homes within the area.
