Make a measurable difference in children's reading journeys as an Online Reading Specialist. You'll deliver targeted, 25-minute lessons grounded in the Science of Reading, helping students in grades K–8 develop foundational literacy skills in an interactive virtual environment. Each session is designed to be both effective and uplifting, fostering not just progress but also a genuine enthusiasm for reading.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver individualized instruction using a structured, easy-to-follow online curriculum
- Conduct live sessions via Zoom, creating a supportive and motivating atmosphere
- Monitor and assess student development consistently, sharing updates with parents
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young learners to support their confidence and engagement
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and ensure steady progress
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in elementary education or reading intervention
- Understanding of Science of Reading methodologies and evidence-based instruction
- Proven ability to connect with children in an online setting
- Excellent communication skills, with a positive, patient, and energetic presence
Work Environment
As an independent contractor, you’ll start with availability during core hours (Monday to Friday, 7–11 AM and 4–8 PM Central Time). Once you reach 20 weekly student session hours, your schedule becomes flexible, based on student demand.
