Salem Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Sleep Medicine physician to join its outpatient team. The position focuses on evaluating and treating sleep-related conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders in a supportive clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a range of sleep disorders using clinical evaluation and diagnostic testing
- Review and interpret polysomnograms, home sleep apnea tests, and other sleep studies
- Work alongside sleep technologists, respiratory therapists, and referring providers to coordinate care
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Support quality improvement and population health programs
- Participate in teaching and mentoring when opportunities arise
Qualifications
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine. Eligibility for a Massachusetts medical license is required. A strong commitment to patient-centered care, effective communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration is essential.
Board Certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Disease is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate thrives in team-based settings and values continuous learning and professional development.
Work Environment
This is primarily an outpatient role based at 55 Highland Avenue, Salem. While some inpatient duties may be involved if pulmonary expertise is utilized, ICU coverage is not expected. The setting promotes evidence-based practice, inclusion, and professional growth.
Compensation & Benefits
