Prysmian Group is looking for a Raw Material Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Sorocaba, Brazil. In this Category Buyer role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials across the LATAM region, reporting directly to the Head of Raw Material Purchasing Latam.

What You'll Do

Consolidate regional volume demand and negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best prices.
Monitor market trends and consumer behavior to identify the best window of opportunity.
Create and implement strategies to optimize costs and efficiency, ensuring purchased material meets company quality standards.
Ensure execution of the company's procurement policy and compliance, focusing on process improvement and innovation.
Negotiate contracts of supply and rebate consistent with Company control guidelines, maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
Evaluate supplier performance to ensure they meet contractual requirements and established quality standards.
Drive year-over-year savings and improve the net working capital position of the company.
Develop strategic sourcing plans for the negotiation, execution, and ongoing administration of agreements for raw material commodities.
Deal with situational complexity including supply chain focus, market dynamics, risk allocation, senior-level relationships, strategy development, manufacturing issues, and shortages.
Manage performance analysis and benchmarking processes for raw material related costs in the business.
Identify, prioritize, and communicate key issues and opportunities to provide the business a competitive cost advantage.
Provide expertise in developing and deploying supply risk management strategies and Supplier quality processes.
Develop and use dashboard reports and manage complex databases to consolidate Regional Performance and KPI indicators.

What We're Looking For

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Senior Category Buyer leading negotiations with Global Suppliers.
BS or BA Undergraduate Degree in engineering.
Advanced industry and specialized market knowledge of plastics and steel commodities.
Demonstrated experience in contract development and negotiations.
Experience in a manufacturing environment in technical or business-related positions.
Proficiency in English and Spanish.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with attention to detail and effective prioritization.
Strong analytical capabilities including experience handling large and complex data sets.

Nice to Have

Graduation in Engineering and Administration.
Specific experience in managing Plastics commodities.
Experience in industry environments such as Automotive, Industrial, or Consumer Industries.
Knowledge of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and dashboard tools.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Head of Raw Material Purchasing Latam, working within a structured regional procurement team.

This role is an onsite position located at our office in Sorocaba, Brazil.
