As our new Technical Manager in the Dams Group, you will: - Collaborate with discipline leads - Manage structural design staff performance - Conduct structural investigations and analyses - Perform dam safety evaluations - Develop design concepts for concrete, steel, and wood structures - Prepare detailed structural plans and specifications Key Responsibilities Include: - Evaluating and analyzing dam structures, intakes, hydraulic systems - Conducting structural inspections at project sites - Compiling technical data and generating comprehensive reports - Developing design methodologies and alternative evaluations - Preparing detailed engineering calculations - Engaging with technical societies to stay current on emerging practices Minimum Qualifications: - BS in Civil/Structural Engineering - Professional Engineering Registration - 15+ years specialized structural design experience - Proficiency with national engineering design codes - Expertise in finite element method programs - Knowledge of software like STAAD PRO, GT STRUDL, MathCAD Preferred Additional Experience: - QA/QC review expertise - Cost proposal preparation - Design experience with gravity dams, retaining walls - Familiarity with dam safety guidelines Personal Qualities: - Strong communication skills - Effective team collaboration - Proven track record of delivering high-quality designs Compensation Range: $140,000-$180,000 annually We embrace diversity and encourage passionate candidates to apply, even if they don't meet every requirement precisely.
