Brave Health is looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our mission-driven team. In this remote role, you will play a critical part in assessing patients' mental and physical health and developing comprehensive treatment plans. You’ll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to expand access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans.
Conduct individual psychotherapy for patients with chronic or acute mental disorders.
Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions, distinguishing between physiological and psychological bases.
Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, and monitor usage, side effects, and results.
Educate patients and family members about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
Evaluate patient behavior and response to treatment to assess intervention effectiveness.
Work effectively with difficult patients, verbally deescalating situations when necessary.
Order appropriate diagnostic testing such as EKGs and lab work.
Document patients’ histories, assessments, diagnoses, plans, prescriptions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the EHR.
Practice in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
Experience in Addiction and Mental Health, including dual-diagnoses.
Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
Experience and comfort working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13+).
Motivational Interviewing experience.
Proficiency in treatment planning, comprehensive assessments, and quality documentation with EHRs.
Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable with video communication.
Openness to obtaining additional state licensures.
Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Eligibility to work in the United States (we cannot provide or assist with visas).
For Florida or New York license holders: an active DEA registration is required.
A willingness to work in partnership with clients to achieve their goals.

Nice to Have

Spanish-speaking proficiency; other languages are a plus.
Previous telehealth experience.
Previous experience within the Community Mental Health sector.
