Brave Health is looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our mission-driven team. In this remote role, you will play a critical part in assessing patients' mental and physical health and developing comprehensive treatment plans. You’ll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to expand access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans.
- Conduct individual psychotherapy for patients with chronic or acute mental disorders.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions, distinguishing between physiological and psychological bases.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, and monitor usage, side effects, and results.
- Educate patients and family members about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
- Evaluate patient behavior and response to treatment to assess intervention effectiveness.
- Work effectively with difficult patients, verbally deescalating situations when necessary.
- Order appropriate diagnostic testing such as EKGs and lab work.
- Document patients’ histories, assessments, diagnoses, plans, prescriptions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the EHR.
- Practice in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health, including dual-diagnoses.
- Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
- Experience and comfort working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13+).
- Motivational Interviewing experience.
- Proficiency in treatment planning, comprehensive assessments, and quality documentation with EHRs.
- Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software, and comfortable with video communication.
- Openness to obtaining additional state licensures.
- Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Eligibility to work in the United States (we cannot provide or assist with visas).
- For Florida or New York license holders: an active DEA registration is required.
- A willingness to work in partnership with clients to achieve their goals.
Nice to Have
- Spanish-speaking proficiency; other languages are a plus.
- Previous telehealth experience.
- Previous experience within the Community Mental Health sector.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000
- W2, full-time salaried position with health, dental, and vision insurance
- Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call or weekend shifts
- Shift options: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, or 11am-8pm ET
