This role provides essential technical and administrative support for radiology operations within a continuous, around-the-clock setting. The associate manages imaging media creation and distribution, ensuring accurate fulfillment of requests while adhering to strict patient privacy standards under HIPAA. Using electronic health records and multiple imaging platforms, the associate verifies study details, imports and exports medical images, and supports the seamless exchange of critical data across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and distribute imaging media such as discs in response to internal and external requests
- Verify patient and study information using EHR systems
- Transfer medical images across imaging platforms with attention to data integrity and security
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, radiologists, and external provider offices via phone, email, and secure messaging
- Act as a liaison between clinical teams and teleradiology services to resolve unread or pending studies
- Collaborate with the RIS Analyst team to escalate and resolve technical issues promptly
- Monitor imaging worklists and validate exam completions electronically
- Follow up with technologists and radiologists as needed to ensure timely processing
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and bring at least one year of relevant experience. Strong computer literacy, problem-solving ability, and effective interpersonal communication skills are essential. Familiarity with radiology workflows and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment are required. Technical proficiency with Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and Electronic Health Records (EHR) is necessary for success in this role.
