Role Overview
As an Optimization Specialist II, you will manage and supervise cement manufacturing operations from the Remote Optimization Center in Dallas, Texas. Your primary responsibility is to maintain safe, uninterrupted, and efficient plant performance while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and internal operating standards. You will work in close alignment with on-site plant teams and fellow HROC staff to support seamless production.
Key Responsibilities
- Remotely monitor and adjust cement production processes in real time from the Dallas control center
- Track equipment status, process variables, and system alerts to keep operations within safe and efficient limits
- Follow established procedures to ensure consistent, compliant, and secure plant functioning
- Support product quality by maintaining precise control over critical process parameters
- Respond quickly to equipment or process deviations, coordinating with plant and HROC teams to reduce downtime
- Keep detailed records of operational data, equipment readings, and process adjustments
- Analyze performance trends to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous operational optimization
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate prior experience operating cement plants in a 24/7 environment, with strong background in control room operations. A disciplined approach to decision-making and a solid grasp of kiln and mill systems are essential. Proficiency with process control systems used in remote plant management is required. This role demands availability for 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and the ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada as needed.
While not required, a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing disciplines is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a base salary between $84,900 and $113,193, with eligibility for an annual incentive plan.
