Role OverviewOversee daily functions for hospital accounts receivable projects, managing staff and ensuring alignment with client and organizational standards. This position plays a key role in revenue cycle operations, supporting billing, collections, and account resolution while maintaining compliance and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise project operations and lead team members, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Act as a liaison between client business offices and project teams to support seamless workflows
- Establish and track progress toward operational and financial targets
- Collaborate with consultants and operations leads to refine processes and improve outcomes
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and client-specific regulations, including HIPAA
- Review team-generated reports, client correspondence, and account data for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor call quality, productivity, attendance, and adherence to protocols
- Address performance issues through coaching, counseling, and improvement planning
- Support resolution of patient accounts, aiming to clear balances before external collections
- Verify timely receipt and processing of daily files and complete client reconciliations
- Respond to patient and client inquiries via phone and mail, updating records as needed
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members
- Lead regular team meetings to reinforce expectations and share updates
- Review and approve client invoices for correctness prior to submission
- Identify operational trends and escalate issues to management
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure aging metrics align with guidelines
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with seven years of experience, is required. At least two years of that experience must include direct supervision of staff. Backgrounds in healthcare providers, insurance, professional services, or outsourcing environments are preferred. Relevant experience may offset formal education requirements.
Proficiency with Word and Excel is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to manage projects independently.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in San Antonio. Initially, work must be performed on-site; however, limited remote flexibility may be available after training. Occasional travel may be required.
