Layton Construction Company is hiring a Project Manager to administer, direct, and coordinate field supervisory personnel and subcontractors. You will be responsible for maximizing profit, controlling costs, and serving as the primary interface between the company and the project Architect, Engineer, and Owner.
What You'll Do
- Hire, terminate, and/or change the duties of assigned personnel.
- Develop and implement normal operating procedures for overall project operations.
- Approve material purchases and equipment rentals not covered in the estimate.
- Act as company representative in negotiations with the owners.
- Approve the purchase of tools and supplies on jobsite.
- Approve all contract agreements and cost of all outside repairs of equipment assigned to the site(s).
- Review reports to keep top management accurately informed on time, cost, quality, and safety.
- Oversee preparation of the project budget.
- Oversee preparation of the project schedule.
- Audit activities and details needed for an efficient, profitable project from contract signing through warranty period.
- Be committed to active participation in the company’s Quality Improvement Plan.
- Supervise those reporting into them.
- Maintain good relations with Project Managers and Owners.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
- 3-5+ years of construction management experience.
- Strong understanding of industry practices and trends and their impact on the corporation.
- Advanced interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
- General Contractor License.
Team & Environment
This Project Manager reports to and is directly accountable to the Operations Manager.
