Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled paralegal or legal assistant to support a U.S.-based immigration law practice from a remote location in Mexico. This role requires a professional with a strong foundation in legal procedures, particularly within the immigration context, and the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and organize immigration forms, petitions, motions, and supporting documentation
- Submit filings to USCIS and maintain accurate records of all submissions and responses
- Track case deadlines, court dates, and agency requirements using digital case management tools
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law, regulations, and procedural updates
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and coordinate next steps
- Interface with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, courts, and external partners as needed
- Ensure all administrative processes align with U.S. immigration timelines and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a U.S. law environment
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases with precision and discretion
- Comfort using legal technology platforms such as MyCase or Docketwise
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience with U.S. immigration law procedures and documentation
- Familiarity with case management systems like MyCase and Docketwise
- Compensation will reflect demonstrated expertise in immigration law
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be based in Mexico and available during U.S. Eastern Time hours to ensure alignment with client and agency schedules.
