Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join the Shoreline Power Group, a joint venture executing the Major Component Replacement program at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. In this role, you will provide essential project control support to ongoing projects, ensuring systems are properly implemented and utilized, and report directly to the Project Controls Manager.
What You'll Do
- Ensure compliance of assigned projects with project controls standards from contract documents and Aecon policies.
- Participate in developing, establishing, and maintaining the company’s project cost and control systems.
- Participate in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baseline.
- Review project contracts and ensure all conditions are applied and fulfilled.
- Monitor project performance and ensure proper implementation of the project control system.
- Generate required project status reports for internal management and the customer, including Dashboards and performance reports (Earned Value, SPI, CPI).
- Maintain and enforce a change management system in compliance with contract conditions and Aecon’s procedures.
- Communicate, train, and ensure full understanding of project controls processes and responsibilities among project staff.
- Review and analyze project control reports with the team and suggest corrective actions.
- Review and analyze project scheduling and cost reports to maintain project within anticipated cost and schedule.
- Prepare and update project cash flows including a profit and loss statement for joint venture partners.
- Produce custom reports per request of customer or internal management.
- Provide ongoing input for improvements to Shoreline’s project controls policy and guidelines.
- Support development and maintenance of resource‑loaded, logic‑driven schedules reflecting construction sequencing and MCR methodology.
- Facilitate schedule development with project teams to ensure activities are properly logical tied, coded, and leveled.
- Assist with monthly schedule updates, variance analysis, critical path reviews, and identification of near‑critical work.
- Ensure planning best practices are applied, including consistent WBS/CBS integration and physical progress measurement aligned with Earned Value.
- Ensure compliance with Primavera P6 governance and schedule quality checks.
