Parsons is hiring a Principal Roadway Engineer to join our growing transportation team in Indianapolis. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of major projects in the region and neighboring states, contributing to critical infrastructure development.
What You'll Do
- Perform a variety of design and analysis functions for road and highway projects.
- Execute vertical alignments, analyze horizontal impacts and cross-sections, calculate super-elevations, and complete grading and permit plan preparation.
- Perform complex engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and surveys.
- Design using complex software like Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads, and Autocad Civil 3D.
- Complete a variety of assignments, including drawings and specifications for procurement and construction.
- Engage in frequent cross-discipline communication.
- Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issue specifications and datasheets.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant civil road and highway design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Experience with DOT projects.
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages for civil engineering.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Microstation, Autocad, or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in Openroads or InRoads.
