AECOM is looking for a Principal Engineer-Transport Planning to join our Enterprise Capabilities (EC) team. In this role, you will partner with regional and Global Business Line project teams, providing your technical expertise to accelerate delivery on significant transportation projects. Your work will focus on transport planning, operational analysis, and micro-simulation modelling.

What You'll Do

Partner with regional and Global Business Line project teams to provide technical expertise and accelerate delivery.
Deliver high-quality, specialist services to fill capability gaps, resourcing needs, and technical constraints on projects.
Produce base networks and forecast networks and matrices for transport modelling.
Calibrate and validate transport models.
Interpret model results and prepare technical reports.
Deliver quality output within agreed time and budget.

What We're Looking For

A Master’s degree in Transport Planning/Engineering or a related subject.
9+ years of experience in Transport Planning.
9+ years of experience with Operational Modelling Software, specifically PTV VISSIM/VISUM.

Nice to Have

Good knowledge of micro-simulations concepts and theories and how they relate to VISSIM.
Proficiency with Operational Analysis using SYNCHRO/SIDRA/HCS.
Strong data analysis skills (including spreadsheets and databases) and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of Signal coding using VAP.
Familiarity with UK/US/ANZ/Middle East transport modelling guidance.
Experience with mapping tools (GIS) and ability to interpret quantitative transport models.
Experience in programming (Excel macro, Python, R).
Proficiency with LinSig/Synchro/Sidra/Junction 10.
Proficiency with PTV VISWALK/Legion.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Knowledge of VISSIM COM and MOVA.
