Join AECOM as a Principal Civil Engineer and lead a team shaping the future of the water industry. You will be part of our multidisciplinary Water Team, supporting major programmes like Scottish Water's SR27 Enterprise to deliver work with large-scale, meaningful impact.
What You'll Do
- Lead project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
- Manage design scope to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme constraints.
- Demonstrate strong technical understanding and maintain awareness of current industry practices and innovations.
- Lead the quality assurance process for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Develop and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Act as a strong communicator, effectively engaging with multiple project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.
- Apply strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
- Actively embed a safety-first culture within your area of responsibility, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices.
What We're Looking For
- A BEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Be professionally qualified or working towards accreditation with a relevant body such as the ICE or CIWEM.
- Experience working within the water/wastewater industry leading project teams and managing design.
Nice to Have
- Experience of multi-disciplinary non-infrastructure projects.
