AECOM is hiring a Principal Civil Engineer

This role involves leading water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Scotland under the SR27 Enterprise programme with Scottish Water. Responsibilities include technical leadership, project management, team development, and coordination with stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering critical utilities infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams to achieve high-quality results aligned with client expectations.
  • Manage design scope to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Maintain strong technical expertise and stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes for project outputs, ensuring adherence to standards and client specifications.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, offering guidance and support for professional growth.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work culture that supports professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of current health and safety regulations and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification, or substantial relevant experience.
  • Professional accreditation or active pursuit of certification with a recognized institution such as ICE or CIWEM.
  • Proven experience leading project teams and managing design work within the water or wastewater sector.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid; available in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and Perth; flexible hybrid working model with option to discuss part-time or flexible arrangements.
