Role Purpose To enhance Mukuru's brand perception by directing comprehensive communication strategies, encompassing public relations, media engagement, internal messaging, and corporate event management. Role Context Mukuru operates within a dynamic, rapidly expanding fintech landscape. The PR & Communications Manager will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to develop and implement compelling external and internal communication approaches. This role demands a confident communicator possessing strong media networks, creative thinking, and the capability to proactively manage brand representation across diverse markets. Key Responsibilities 1. External Communications - Craft and execute PR strategies to amplify brand visibility and support organizational objectives - Generate press releases, speeches, thought-leadership content, and campaign communications - Track industry developments and media landscape; propose strategic improvements - Serve as organizational spokesperson and maintain consistent brand narrative - Develop reputation management protocols and handle communication responses 2. Media Relations - Cultivate and maintain relationships with critical media representatives and industry influencers - Secure comprehensive media coverage across digital, print, and broadcast platforms - Prepare executive leadership for media interactions through targeted coaching and briefing materials - Function as primary media engagement point, including during challenging scenarios 3. Internal Communications - Compose and distribute internal communications, newsletters, organizational updates, and announcements 4. Communications Reporting - Monitor, evaluate, and analyze communications and PR campaign effectiveness - Generate and present communication impact assessments to leadership 5. Stakeholder Management - Establish robust relationships with internal departments, executives, and external partners - Oversee external PR agency collaborations and ensure strategic alignment - Collaborate with senior leadership to shape communication strategies and messaging 6.
