What You'll Do
As Country Director, you will shape and execute a strategic vision for humanitarian programming in Bangladesh, with a focus on Cox’s Bazar and southern regions. You will oversee the design and delivery of context-specific, high-quality initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of displaced populations and host communities.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Your role includes building strong partnerships with local organizations, ensuring effective coordination within the humanitarian response framework, and representing the organization in key national and regional forums.
You will drive program growth by identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive proposals, and maintaining trusted relationships with institutional donors. You will also ensure financial and operational compliance, aligning all activities with organizational standards and global strategy.
Engagement with government authorities is critical—you will secure necessary approvals and maintain compliance for uninterrupted program delivery. You will also work closely with regional leadership and technical units to expand impact, including through refugee resettlement and regional collaboration.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in managing large-scale humanitarian programs in complex environments
- Strong track record in donor relations, proposal development, and financial oversight
- Experience building partnerships with local organizations and navigating government compliance processes
- Deep understanding of refugee crises, protection principles, and coordination mechanisms in humanitarian settings
- Commitment to advancing gender equality, diversity, and inclusion across programs and operations
- Ability to represent the organization effectively to external stakeholders, including media and public authorities
- Strategic thinker with the capacity to adapt programming in rapidly changing contexts
