Welocalize is looking for a freelance Portuguese Gaming Localization Linguist located in Portugal. You will be responsible for translating and adapting video game content for a global audience.
What You'll Do
- Localize in-game text, UI, marketing materials, and documentation into European Portuguese
- Ensure translations are culturally appropriate and resonate with a Portuguese gaming audience
- Maintain consistency with established glossaries and style guides
- Adapt humor, idioms, and references to fit the target culture while preserving creative intent
- Perform quality checks and provide feedback on localized content
What We're Looking For
- Native-level fluency in European Portuguese and professional proficiency in English
- Demonstrated experience localizing video games or related entertainment content
- Deep understanding of gaming culture, terminology, and player expectations in Portugal
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Work Mode
This is a remote, freelance position. You can work from anywhere in Portugal, including Lisbon or Porto. The role involves collaborating with a global team.
