About the Role

Kiewit Corporation is hiring a Piping Superintendent - Power to play a key role in ensuring the success of our construction operations. You will focus on the precision installation of fossil power plant centerline equipment, overseeing field activities and driving project execution.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee field activities, supervising General Foremen/Foremen and craft workers.
  • Interface with Technical Field Representatives for major equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain schedule and cost control, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Work with quality personnel to validate and document installation to manufacturer specifications and tolerances.
  • Manage work assignments to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior superintendents, general foremen, foremen, and field engineers.
  • Review and approve labor rates to ensure fair compensation and adherence to budget.
  • Assist management with contract administration by coordinating subcontractor interactions and field management meetings.
  • Establish and maintain positive client and key vendor relationships, resolving issues promptly.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the client, engineer, and equipment manufacturer to address problems and enhance planning.
  • Monitor and provide input for progress and cost updates.
  • Assist project leadership with the review, approval, and negotiation of change orders.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project completion plans for smooth turnover.
  • Maintain detailed daily records for accurate documentation and reporting.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent or Leadership capacity.
  • Familiarity with standard industry codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3 and AWS.
  • Familiarity with industry standard welding means, methods, and procedures for piping and structural.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, spool drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Ability to manage interface with other trades/crafts (structural, scaffold, insulation, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) to coordinate work planning.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems that may arise.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, quality installation, planning, and field execution.
  • Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform work safely and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work during normal operating hours and overtime/weekends as required.
  • Willingness to work at various locations as conditions may vary.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with piping installation and welding in addition to managing pipe installation work.
  • Commensurate experience managing piping installation with an applicable college or technical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity and ability to navigate an engineering 3D model.
  • Experience in piping systems testing and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with standard rigging practices and methods.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position. Role locations include Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas.
