About the Role

The physician will be responsible for providing primary and emergency medical services to a diverse population in an isolated environment, ensuring continuity of care, managing medical supplies, and coordinating with off-island specialists when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary care services to adults and children
  • Assess and manage acute medical conditions
  • Stabilize and prepare patients for medical evacuation
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as needed
  • Monitor chronic health conditions
  • Conduct health screenings and preventive care
  • Respond to emergency medical incidents
  • Collaborate with nursing and support staff
  • Oversee medical supply inventory and ordering
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews
  • Provide health education to patients
  • Support public health initiatives
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality standards
  • Coordinate with off-site medical consultants
  • Follow infection control procedures
  • Maintain clinical equipment functionality

  • Work within defined scope of practice
