Mass General Brigham is hiring a Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor to join our team. You will obtain blood specimens and process laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures. Your role is central to up-front specimen handling, clerical duties, and facilitating smooth laboratory workflow while providing professional, patient-centered care.

What You'll Do

Obtain blood specimens from patients following established procedures.
Verify correct specimen and labeling requirements for test orders.
Register and label tubes correctly and accurately.
Centrifuge and aliquot specimens according to department policy.
Sort, store, and deliver laboratory specimens by department and specimen requirements.
Work with medical technologists and client services to resolve specimen problems.
Answer telephones and provide assistance as needed.
Handle biohazardous and infectious material following proper safety precautions.
Demonstrate appropriate hand hygiene and use of two patient identifiers.
Attend and participate in classes, meetings, and continuing education as appropriate.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or Equivalent
0-1 year of internship or equivalent experience
Ability to demonstrate annual CAP competencies in any area you work

Nice to Have

Phlebotomy Technician (PT) [PBT(ASCP)] certification
3-5 years of experience in a hospital laboratory

Benefits & Compensation

$3,000 sign-on bonus
Compensation: $18.99 - $28.21 per hour
