Mass General Brigham is hiring a Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor to join our team. You will obtain blood specimens and process laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures. Your role is central to up-front specimen handling, clerical duties, and facilitating smooth laboratory workflow while providing professional, patient-centered care.
What You'll Do
- Obtain blood specimens from patients following established procedures.
- Verify correct specimen and labeling requirements for test orders.
- Register and label tubes correctly and accurately.
- Centrifuge and aliquot specimens according to department policy.
- Sort, store, and deliver laboratory specimens by department and specimen requirements.
- Work with medical technologists and client services to resolve specimen problems.
- Answer telephones and provide assistance as needed.
- Handle biohazardous and infectious material following proper safety precautions.
- Demonstrate appropriate hand hygiene and use of two patient identifiers.
- Attend and participate in classes, meetings, and continuing education as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 0-1 year of internship or equivalent experience
- Ability to demonstrate annual CAP competencies in any area you work
Nice to Have
- Phlebotomy Technician (PT) [PBT(ASCP)] certification
- 3-5 years of experience in a hospital laboratory

Benefits & Compensation
- $3,000 sign-on bonus
- Compensation: $18.99 - $28.21 per hour
