Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Part-Time Phlebotomist (Donor Centre Associate) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting donor blood and blood components safely to provide lifesaving products, ensuring quality service to donors, team members, and volunteers.
What You'll Do
- Conduct registration and confidential screening to determine donor eligibility and build a positive donor experience.
- Ensure safe processing and handling of blood products and respect donor privacy by following procedures.
- Perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitor donors for safety and comfort, and provide post-donation care and instruction.
- Ensure accuracy of product information in the computer system, complete product labelling, and prepare products.
- Share knowledge and support best practices to drive continuous improvement and enhance the donor experience.
- Assist in setting up booths, tables, and equipment at mobile community events to ensure donor clinics are properly set up.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of high school.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy or one year of related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems and programs.
Nice to Have
- Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language.
