Mass General Brigham Community Physicians is hiring a Phlebotomist I to collect and process blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing. This patient-facing role is essential to our not-for-profit organization’s mission of patient care, research, teaching, and community service.
What You'll Do
- Obtain quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation.
- Assist in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and provide rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting.
- Communicate effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Handle sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Work fluently with computer programs and systems, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other test administration and specimen collection as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Nice to Have
- Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License (State License)
- Completion of a phlebotomy course
