About the Role
This position involves handling prescription orders, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate medication dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
Responsibilities
- Process prescription refill requests according to established protocols
- Prepare medication orders for final verification and dispatch
- Maintain accurate records of prescription transactions
- Assist in organizing and storing pharmaceutical supplies
- Support pharmacists with prescription labeling and packaging tasks
- Verify medication stock levels and report discrepancies
- Follow safety and compliance guidelines for handling medications
- Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts
- Operate pharmacy software to enter and retrieve prescription data
- Adhere to patient confidentiality standards in all tasks
- Respond to internal requests for medication status updates
- Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature-sensitive drugs
- Sort and route completed prescriptions for delivery or pickup
- Assist with returns and disposal of expired pharmaceuticals
- Communicate with team members regarding workflow bottlenecks
- Maintain cleanliness of pharmacy work areas
- Support onboarding of new pharmacy staff when needed
- Follow standardized procedures for high-volume order processing
- Report equipment issues affecting prescription preparation
- Assist in reconciling prescription discrepancies
- Participate in quality assurance reviews
- Handle non-sterile compounding tasks as trained
- Track controlled substance logs as required
- Support medication therapy management initiatives
- Respond to internal system alerts related to prescription processing

- Work within a pharmacy model integrated with Omnicare services to support long-term care and specialty medication distribution.

Training and Development
- Complete required onboarding modules covering safety, compliance, and technical systems.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and update procedural knowledge.
