CVS Health is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence at a retail location. You will be responsible for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, patient service, and contributing to a safe and inclusive culture.
What You'll Do
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Work across pharmacy stations—including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off—for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, solving patient problems, and offering services like immunizations.
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed, such as putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset and seeking to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowed by law and with proper training.
- Where permissible, support immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training to become a Technician Immunizer.
What We're Looking For
- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements governing age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If state law does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age.
- If state law does not mandate education, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between them, and confirm prescription information for patient safety.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner and notice and respond to patients’ reactions.
- Communication Skills: Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues, utilizing active listening.
- Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining day’s supply or number of bottles needed.
- Problem Resolution: Ability to identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Physical Demands: Be mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, reach, and perform repetitive motions; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs.
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the pharmacy team, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager.
