Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Patient Host or Hostess (SEIU - D) to directly support patient care by facilitating the meal selection process. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive meals appropriate for their dietary needs while maintaining high standards for food safety and service.
What You'll Do
- Interact with patients to collect appropriate food selections.
- Edit and enter selections into the computer system and verify proper dietetic physician orders.
- Utilize proper food handling and food storage techniques when assembling patient trays and when receiving, rotating, and storing food.
- Deliver and retrieve food carts and ensure that patient trays are delivered in accordance with the tray delivery schedule.
- Maintain and assemble the floor stock.
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Attention to detail for accurately entering and verifying diet orders.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Reliability in following delivery schedules and maintaining stock.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of food and nutrition experience.
