About the Role
This role supports patient onboarding by managing registration tasks, confirming insurance details, and providing clear instructions to visitors, contributing to efficient clinic operations and positive first impressions.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival in a courteous and professional manner
- Verify patient identity and demographic details during each visit
- Collect and process insurance documentation accurately
- Explain clinic policies and procedures to patients and families
- Schedule appointments according to provider availability
- Maintain up-to-date patient records in the electronic system
- Assist patients with completing required intake forms
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage patient flow
- Resolve scheduling conflicts or delays promptly
- Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with privacy regulations
- Process co-payments and provide billing information
- Identify and escalate registration discrepancies
- Support check-in and check-out procedures for multiple departments
- Respond to patient questions about services and wait times
- Ensure waiting areas remain organized and welcoming
- Update patient contact and insurance information as needed
- Assist with patient navigation within the facility
- Follow protocols for handling sensitive or urgent situations
- Maintain knowledge of insurance plan requirements
- Prepare daily reports related to patient volume and activity
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Adapt to changes in clinic operations or software systems
- Promote a respectful and inclusive environment for all visitors
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to access points
