UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a Paramedic to provide advanced life support and medical services in a prehospital setting at Kennywood and SandCastle amusement parks in the Pittsburgh region. You will ensure a safe and healthy environment for guests and employees by following PA DOH BLS/ALS guidelines and clinical protocols, supporting the mission and objectives of the UPMC system.
What You'll Do
- Provide advanced life support to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care.
- Document appropriate assessment, interventions, and other pertinent patient information in a timely manner.
- Ensure safe operation of patient-laden stretchers and maintain safe loading, unloading, and movement.
- Maintain a clean patient environment as well as crew quarters.
- Perform daily equipment checks for vehicle and medications.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to all requests for service.
- Adhere to rules for scheduling, including schedule requests, minimum time, and availability.
- Participate constructively in the peer-review driven quality improvement program.
- Actively participate in the development and training of new staff.
- Participate in scheduled and unscheduled outreach activities, representing the UPMC system.
- Ensure patient and family confidentiality and dignity at all times.
- Report for work well rested and fit for duty, adhering to the drug and alcohol policy.
- Select and use personal protective equipment appropriate to the level of the anticipated hazard.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- EMT-P certification from a PA accredited program.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Paramedic certification.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting certification with renewal.
- Act 33 certification with renewal.
- Act 34 certification with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance certification with renewal.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull weight up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Eligibility to receive medical command authorization by the Medical Director.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to any base site as assigned.
- Ability to successfully complete the prescribed orientation program, including classroom.
- Ability to work productively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of EMS pre-hospital experience at the advance life support provider level.
Team & Environment
You will work as part of the team, following direction from the Medical Director and base site manager.

This is an onsite position, located at Kennywood and SandCastle amusement parks in the Pittsburgh region.
