This role is central to the efficient flow of materials within a high-volume distribution center. As a Pallet Sorter, you will manually sort, stack, and reposition pallets to meet operational standards, ensuring loads are secure and properly arranged. You'll frequently move materials by hand, loading and unloading trailers and relocating palletized goods throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Stack pallets to designated heights using proper techniques
- Manually load and unload freight from trailers
- Transport pallets and crates across the distribution center
- Inspect shipments for secure placement and quality compliance
- Verify trailer movements in the yard management system
- Complete production documentation with accuracy and consistency
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team leads
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to extended or overtime shifts as needed
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, pivot, and lift throughout the shift
- Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly
- Required to wear safety gear including eye and ear protection and steel-toed footwear
- Must have clear close and distance vision, including color discrimination
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and airborne particles
