The Organizational Design Consultant will play a key role in shaping effective, future-ready structures across the organization. Working closely with HR and senior leaders, you will evaluate current models, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives that enhance clarity, efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals. Your work will directly support sustainable workforce planning and organizational resilience throughout Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess organizational structures, workflows, and resource allocation to strengthen performance and operational effectiveness
- Lead redesign efforts including role definition, reporting lines, and optimization of spans of control
- Evaluate readiness for change, analyze impacts, and support implementation of change strategies for lasting adoption
- Create practical tools, frameworks, and process documentation to guide execution and improve understanding
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Management to deliver organizational effectiveness projects
- Work with Employee & Labour Relations to define role changes, structure transitions, and training pathways
- Conduct regular audits to ensure alignment with policies and evolving business demands
- Apply evaluation methods to measure organizational health and refine design solutions
- Support job description updates and contribute to enterprise-wide HR initiatives
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications
A university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of seven years of HR experience—preferably in the public sector or within large, unionized environments. At least three of those years should include leadership in people or program management. You bring proven experience in organizational design, consulting, and managing complex projects from concept to completion.
Success in this role requires strong facilitation and communication skills across all levels, including virtual platforms. You are skilled in data analysis for organizational modeling, adept at navigating ambiguity, and committed to confidentiality and sound judgment. A collaborative approach and ability to influence stakeholders are essential. Occasional travel to offices across Ontario may be required.
Change management certification is considered an asset.
