Lead the evolution of air quality and climate consulting for a growing North American practice focused on energy and infrastructure. This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity to shape technical direction, expand client relationships, and guide a distributed team of professionals working on high-impact environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct air quality and climate-related projects including emissions analysis, regulatory compliance, permitting strategies, and environmental impact evaluations for energy and industrial clients.
- Lead technical reviews under the Clean Air Act, GHG reporting programs, and state-level regulations, ensuring defensible assessments and strategic compliance pathways.
- Manage permitting processes including NSR, PSD, Title V, EPCRA, and state-specific requirements, supporting facility development and modifications.
- Oversee dispersion modeling and health risk assessments to support siting, permitting, and regulatory submissions.
- Guide project teams through FERC certification, NEPA compliance, and state-level environmental reviews, particularly in the Appalachian Basin region.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through consistent engagement, technical presentations, and participation in industry forums.
- Supervise project execution, including financial oversight, risk management, and contract administration for complex, multi-jurisdictional initiatives.
- Mentor technical staff, contribute to recruitment, and support professional development across the practice.
- Champion organizational values and foster a collaborative, technically rigorous culture across North America.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a related field, along with professional licensure (P.E. or P.G.). A minimum of 10 years of experience in energy infrastructure projects—particularly in permitting, compliance, and environmental review—is required.
Essential experience includes project leadership under FERC, NEPA, and state-specific regulations, as well as familiarity with federal programs including the Clean Water Act, USACE Section 404, endangered species consultations, and historic preservation reviews. Direct experience with Section 7c pipeline development is highly valued.
Preferred Background
- Advanced degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline.
- Training or certification in erosion and sediment control, wetland delineation, or HAZWOPER (40-hour with refreshers).
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position with the option to work from select regional offices. The role supports a national practice with projects spanning multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks.
