Role Overview
Join a team responsible for delivering high-integrity technical drawings for overhead transmission line systems up to 400kV. As a Senior CAD Engineer, you will play a central role in transforming engineering inputs into precise, standards-compliant CAD documentation throughout the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and design through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for overhead line structures, alignment routes, and associated components.
- Develop wire clearance diagrams incorporating ground profiles, statutory clearances, crossing analyses, and conductor movement envelopes.
- Produce insulator string drawings with full hardware configurations, phase spacing, and structural interface details for systems between 132kV and 400kV.
- Support design teams in generating PLS-CADD Plan & Profile outputs and related schematics.
- Generate construction-level drawings, General Arrangements, fabrication details, and final as-built records.
- Incorporate survey data, LiDAR scans, GIS inputs, and PLS-CADD results into accurate and consistent CAD deliverables.
- Build and manage standardized drawing libraries, templates, and symbols specific to overhead line engineering.
- Ensure strict compliance with NG/ET/SR_135 and NG/ET/SR_188 standards, including proper documentation control via ECM/IDMS systems.
- Assemble drawing packages and maintain key documentation registers such as the Site Drawing Index, Contract Drawing List, and Development Document Register.
- Review existing site drawings for reuse potential and verify master records for accuracy and consistency prior to project initiation.
- Support delivery-phase activities by ensuring all new or revised drawings meet regulatory and design requirements, participating in drawing reviews and commissioning coordination.
- Provide technical input for milestone projects by interpreting engineering calculations, validating drawing accuracy, and supporting route optimization, clash detection, access planning, and constructability assessments.
