The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is hiring a Contracts and Grants Officer 1 to join the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship, Office of Research Administration (ORA). In this role, you will work independently to negotiate research contracts in accordance with sponsoring agency requirements and University policies, providing institutional-level sponsored research administration services across all University campuses.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate subaward terms and conditions.
- Conduct subrecipient risk assessments and review audits consistent with University guidelines.
- Provide guidance, support, and advice to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration issues.
- Interpret a broad range of internal and external policies, government regulations, and contractual terms.
- Collaborate with other University units such as IRB, Risk Management, Technology Transfer, Export Control, and General Counsel.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and safeguard University assets.
- Remain abreast of regulatory changes relevant to your subaward portfolio.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in contracting.
Nice to Have
- CRA certification.
- Experience with sponsored research, unfunded research agreements (CDAs, MTAs, DTUAs, unfunded collaborations), and outbound subaward agreement monitoring and risk assessment.
