ANI Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Ophthalmology Account Executive to join its Commercial Rare Disease Team. Reporting to the Area Business Director, you will be responsible for driving physician and patient identification, market development, and brand awareness within the North Dallas, Tyler, and Shreveport territory. We are looking for performance-driven individuals with high business acumen to build strategic relationships in the ophthalmology space.
What You'll Do
- Drive demand through clinical selling and education to referring and treating healthcare providers on Cortrophin Gel and ILUIVEN.
- Build and execute a territory strategy and account-specific plans to drive physician and patient identification, market development, and brand awareness in Ophthalmology and Retina.
- Prioritize and manage resources to optimize access to and development of accounts with the most sales potential.
- Develop individual account plans for key accounts and physicians to maximize sales results.
- Build and maintain strong physician relationships through effective pre-call planning, customized call execution, and post-call analysis.
- Collaborate with the Ophthalmology brand team and facilitate cross-functional work with stakeholders such as MSLs, Market Access, and patient HUB teams.
- Partner externally to drive patient identification through market development and education, developing strategies to retain key customers.
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and compliance in all activities.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in rare disease, retina, and/or specialty pharmaceutical sales.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel 50% or more, including occasional overnight stays.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for physician or patient events, both in-person and virtual.
Nice to Have
- An advanced degree in business or science.
- Extensive experience calling on Retina Specialists, Ophthalmologists, and Eye Care Professionals.
- Sales experience within multiple ophthalmology sub-specialty areas.
- Product launch experience and a working knowledge of government and commercial payers.
- Understanding and experience working with in-house patient support services.
- Familiarity with the buy-and-bill process, patient services, and specialty channel distribution.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory pharmaceutical industry requirements.
- Experience leading and executing territory-level business planning activities.
- The ability to manage a multi-state territory with a diverse customer base, depending on geography.
Team & Environment
This role reports directly to the ANI Rare Disease Area Business Director - Ophthalmology. You will be a key member of the Ophthalmology Division, working within a collaborative, multi-stakeholder commercial team.
