Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Operations Engineering Manager I to manage, plan, and direct Operations Engineering and Industrial Engineering activities for a specific manufacturing business unit. You will be responsible for achieving corporate goals and objectives across safety, quality, cost, and schedule, while overseeing multiple projects and process improvements.
What You'll Do
- Plan and develop the Operations Engineering function, focusing on process optimization and lean manufacturing to support zero defect objectives.
- Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing and materials initiatives.
- Provide technical and management direction and training to subordinates.
- Create future leaders through mentoring, coaching, and leadership development.
- Develop, plan, and implement MBU layout, process flow, tooling/equipment, material handling, and cost and quality improvements.
- Coordinate with internal and external organizations to ensure Beyond the Shop floor practices are used for new product development.
- Oversee daily work planning for manufacturing areas to generate department metrics.
- Analyze work performance reports to manage individual performance in area support.
- Ensure accurate records and computerized data are maintained for all work.
- Provide guidance and direction on career growth to employees.
- Develop and monitor budget requirements, controlling expenditures to meet approved budgets.
- Monitor progress, prioritize workloads based on schedule and need.
- Ensure GAC and QIP policy is practiced; recommend and implement quality improvement procedures.
- Manage facilities master plans and oversee improvement projects and maintenance effectiveness.
- Design and implement environmentally conscious plans and practices for the MBU.
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment for all MBU employees.
- Provide direction for capital investments that reduce costs and improve quality.
- Actively support concurrent engineering initiatives for smooth new product implementation.
- Ensure adequate operations and industrial engineering support for assigned areas.
- Provide leadership with ideas for new technology and methodology enabling world class manufacturing performance.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with all aspects of manufacturing and industrial engineering, including engineering configuration, tooling design, quality, plant safety, and Lean concepts.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice to Have
- Supervisory, team lead, or demonstrated project management experience.
