The Mosaic Company is looking for an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern for Summer 2026. At Mosaic, we help the world grow the food it needs. You’ll work full-time, on-site at our Riverview Manufacturing Facility, providing technical support to plant operations by troubleshooting complex systems and optimizing production processes.
What You'll Do
- Identify and resolve root causes of issues in phosphate processing and production systems.
- Improve the efficiency of evaporation circuits, filtration equipment, and overall plant systems.
- Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Sulfuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid departments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of tools for the Remote Control Center.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers, lab personnel, and contractors.
- Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to your project assignment.
- Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
What We're Looking For
- Sophomore level by May 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- 2.75 GPA or higher.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
- Must successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat.
- Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally.
- Able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
- Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materials.
- Able to hear, with or without correction.
- Able to read, write, and understand basic English.
- Able to see, with or without correction.
- Able to use fine hand motor skills.
- Able to wear a respirator.
Nice to Have
- Experience with OIS, PI Vision, Asset Frameworks, SAP, and PowerBI.
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or in a job.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Familiarity with an industrial environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
