About the Role

Merck & Co., Inc. / Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC is hiring a Senior Oncology Sales Representative based in Cluj Napoca, Romania. In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing the promotion and adoption of our oncology product portfolio within your assigned territory. You will engage with healthcare professionals to drive both short-term sales and long-term market development, all while ensuring strict regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure strict adherence to internal regulations, company standards, and Romanian pharmaceutical laws in all promotional activities.
  • Define client groups and plan quarterly visits to optimize coverage. Prepare daily routes and weekly visit plans.
  • Promote company products and marketing policies to healthcare professionals qualified to prescribe or distribute medicines.
  • Provide accurate, relevant medical information based on individual doctor needs.
  • Collect and report feedback on product usage and market trends.
  • Work with product managers to administer marketing materials and samples.
  • Participate in planning and executing promotional events such as congresses and sponsorships within budget and regulatory guidelines.
  • Submit bi-weekly activity reports through the internal reporting system.
  • Provide advance notice of major monthly activities to management.
  • Analyze territorial dynamics and healthcare professional potential to develop and implement effective coverage plans.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in General Practice or pharmaceutical sales.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and oncology therapeutic area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in Romanian and English (both written and spoken).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team spirit.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned region.
  • Demonstrate ethics, integrity, and accountability.
  • Drive results with a focus on optimizing deals and achieving measurable outcomes.
